Our Voyage
Gerben, a trained maritime professional with captain’s credentials, once prepared for a life navigating the open seas. But he charted a different course: transforming an aging vessel into something both functional and soulful. With his nautical expertise, he embraced the challenge of refurbishing this ship—not for freight or exploration, but for hospitality and warmth.
Rodinde, Gerben’s partner in life and creativity, brought color and personality to the project. She envisioned more than a refurbished vessel—she saw a reflection of comfort, elegance, and charm. Her creative touch turned cold metal into inviting spaces filled with warmth and a uniquely feminine flair. Together, they converted a historic hull into two distinct accommodations: the Captain’s Cabin in the front, and the Sailors’ Suite in the back.
Once, they planned to sail the world together. Now, they’re inviting the world to come aboard the Reussi, offering guests a chance to experience life on the water—not through navigation, but through connection.
The Captains’ Cabin (Front of the Ship)
Picture this: you step into the front quarters of the Reussi—the Captain’s Cabin—where tradition meets modern comfort. Rodinde has woven a harmonious blend of rich nautical textures and soft design accents. Perhaps you see subtly curved wooden wall panels that echo the contours of the ship, painted in tranquil hues of sea glass blue or sandy cream. A plush double bed rests beneath elegantly porthole-inspired windows that frame soft light and whisper of distant horizons. Brass lanterns and maritime accents—like a polished compass or antique helm—imbue the space with heritage and character.
In your mind's eye, there might be a small, cozy seating corner—perfectly appointed with a striped cushion for reading or planning imaginary voyages. The colors, while classic, are lightened by touches of daring—maybe a coral throw pillow or mint-green artwork—that speak of Rodinde’s playful yet refined style.

The Sailors’ Suite (Back of the Ship)
At the rear, the Sailors’ Suite unfolds in a more intimate, tucked-away haven. Here, the atmosphere is at once snug and romantic. Imagine a rich wooden trim—perhaps with a weathered patina—and layered fabrics: a velvet throw draped over a compact sitting bench, soft linen curtains drawn gently aside to let in afternoon light, and a warm rug underfoot.
The bed may be nestled under a sloped ceiling or in a curtained alcove, accentuating the snug feeling of a sailor’s hideaway. Artwork or small nautical artifacts dot the walls—maybe a star chart or framed ship blueprint, gifting the space with subtle storytelling. The palette here could lean earthier—sage green, terracotta, warm ivory—creating a deeply comforting and peaceful escape.
