The Captains Cabin is located in the rear part of the ship. Where the skipper used to live with his family, we have created a comfortable suite with a living room, bedroom, toilet and shower/sauna. And don't forget the wheelhouse and the wide roof terrace: on top of the ship, they offer panoramic views of the canal and the nearby historic buildings.
Bedding and towels are included in your stay, as well as coffee and tea to enjoy together while you can enjoy the tranquility and gently advancing boats.
Our houseboat has multiple private areas. You’ll be staying in the beautiful suite shown in the photos, which is your private space during the stay. Other parts of the boat are not included.

Perfect canal houseboat stay with modern comfort and relaxing waterfront moments
We had a lovely stay at Gerben’s place, we’ve wanted to stay on a canal houseboat for a while and this was perfect. Nicely updated with modern touches, the space was nice & clean. It was fun to wake up on the canal and enjoy happy hours outside on the deck.We’d definitely be back!
Relaxing and spacious houseboat stay with sauna and beautiful canal views
Gerben was a fantastic host and met us upon arrival to walk us through the boat. The space was exactly as described and the sauna was perfect for shaking off those rainy Amsterdam walks. We very much enjoyed sitting in the living area and watching the tour boats pass by. We got a few laughs by standing in the wheel house and pretending to be driving the boat! The space was roomier than expected and well stocked with towels, dishes, soaps, etc. Thank you Gerben!!!!

We had a lovely stay at The Captain's Cabin. The location was excellent and it was super fun to watch all the boat traffic buzz by. Gerben was very reachable and the boat was nicely appointed.
Excellent stay
We were looking for a place to stay for a weekend in Amsterdam when we spotted the opportunity to stay on a boat. Amsterdam is covered with canals and the canals are lined with boats. So, we took the opportunity. Our hosts were incredibly friendly and helpful. Any questions we sent were answered promptly. The boat was recently renovated and really very cool. It was located in the middle of the old town with lots to see and do. It was quiet at night. It was very clean. We really enjoyed every bit of it.
